XS 650 277° Rephased Motor Improvements Ride:
I took a ride on the 277° rephased bike today, it is the first time I was able to ride this bike to Slidell, La. and not have the ignition go out! Several times with the Newtronics electronic ignition the bike started running on one cylinder coming home. Turns out, it never was right to begin with. Every time I put a Newtronics ignition on, it failed. I am not sure why. We have an electronic ignition for the bikes now!! More rephased motor information lower down on this page!
The ferry crossing the Mississippi river.
Waiting in line.
The Mississippi River steamboat: " Natchez " turns around in the river near the ferry landing.
Natchez, in the background.
Headed back up river.

The two ferry's swap positions crossing the river. I was on the big one.
I did some super trick ports on the head, man this bike screams. Most of the work is on the exhaust ports! You have to carefully do the exhaust ports using the metal that they give you. These are Pro "D"ports. The ports angle up and out to the right and up and out to the left on the other side. 1 3/4" X 29" ceramic coated hooligan pipes. 38mmVM carbs. 440" lift Megacycle cam. The motor is 750cc rephased to 277°. The head makes this bike a whole new ride, the power starts right away down low, and it just keeps building to over 8 grand! There is no welding done to this head! This bike is a rocket now! It spins the tire just accelerating!
Getting gas on the ride back.
