Blue Crabs Caught in the Surf

at Fourchon Public Beach!

We caught over three dozen keeper crabs in three crab nets that were tied on to our surf rod holders. We used cut mullet for bait.

This is a Female Blue crab in the

"Berry Stage" (pregnant)

It is illegal to keep or harm these spawning females.

Also called "sponge crabs"
