"How To Catch Trout"

And other Predator Game Fish!

For those in far off places, Fourchon Public Beach is a nine mile strip of beach and camping area where Louisiana meets the Gulf of Mexico! It is across Caminada Pass west of the well known island of Grand Isle! For Directions from highway LA1: Click Here!

There was an article in the local newspaper about a gentleman who surf fishes these dangerous waters at night, and many remarks were made that the fish stop biting at daybreak!! The article said he was a Biologist with the state! He should be an Entomologist too because the real predators out there all night are "Mosquitoes" and "Flying Teeth"!

These fish were caught on June 22, Around noon, there are 3 Bluefish, 3 Speckled Trout, and 1 of three Ladyfish I hooked up with in front of several anglers fishing with live croakers near Caminada Pass! I use my "RangaTang" lures! Don't make a few cast and give up, keep casting off on an angle to the left, the right, and straight out to cover a lot of water, these ruthless predators will nail it! The Lady fish are similar to a small Tarpon or Bonefish! What a blast! When they hit they peel off line against the drag headed for the rigs, then they jump completely out of the water shaking their head from side to side trying to throw the lure! They have a boney mouth and are hard to hook! When she hits the water again its peel drag some more!! One of these gals played out will make your whole day!
